The concert, organized by the Council for Culture and the Arts of Nuevo León (CONARTE) with the support of the Federal Ministry of Culture, was held to present the anthology La Canción de Arte de Julián Carrillo. This project, accompanied by a CD recording of the selected works, was promoted in various concert halls across the country with the aim of disseminating and revaluing the composer’s vocal legacy.

Cecilia Montemayor on Flying with Culture in Nuevo León presents “Argentine Flowers, the art song of Carlos Guastavino” with the participation of: Serguei Tibets – Accordion, Rodrigo Valdés – Piano. A collection of songs originally written for voice and piano, in a renewed interpretation for voice, piano and accordion.

The concert, organized by the Council for Culture and the Arts of Nuevo León (CONARTE) with the support of the Federal Ministry of Culture, was held to present the anthology La Canción de Arte de Julián Carrillo. This project, accompanied by a CD recording of the selected works, was promoted in various concert halls across the country with the aim of disseminating and revaluing the composer’s vocal legacy.
The songs of Julián Carrillo stand out for their profound dramatic content and the close expressive relationship between voice and piano. Their performance requires a high level of technical mastery, due to both their musical complexity and the stylistic nuances characteristic of his work.
“This concert is the artistic culmination of a two-year research project I conducted on the tonal song of Julián Carrillo. From this study, an anthology was created and the recording of these pieces was produced. All of this was made possible thanks to a grant from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA),” explained soprano Cecilia Montemayor.
Concert: Boccherini – Stabat Mater (14/04/2017)
Stabat Mater is a Latin hymn (thirteenth century) and means “the Mother was standing”, which in twenty couplets describes the Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin on the Cross. This message focuses on the spiritual and emotional bond that unites Mary and all Christians to the death of her Son on the Cross. The Stabat Mater was introduced into the liturgy gradually until 1727 when it was prescribed as a sequence for the Mass of the Seven Sorrows of Mary on September 15 and the Friday before Holy Week, as well as their corresponding offices.




Concert: “Escuchan a Cervantes” — Teatro Universitario (UANL) (25/05/2016)
A concert by Cecilia Montemayor, featuring a selection of poems and songs inspired by Don Quijote, bringing to life the literary grandeur of Cervantes through music. The event included the participation of pianist Denisse Ara Toledo, whose performance complemented and enhanced each piece, creating an intimate and deeply expressive atmosphere.




Concert: “Flores Argentinas” (24/09/2016)
The concert “Flores Argentinas”, performed by soprano Cecilia Montemayor, was presented as part of the 2016 Festival Internacional de Santa Lucía, with the Tierra Hall of the Museum of Mexican History as its venue.
Dedicated to the work of Argentine composer Carlos Guastavino, one of the most representative figures in Latin American art song, the recital offered a deeply expressive musical experience filled with nuance.
The artistic proposal stood out for a performance that went beyond the traditional voice-and-piano format, incorporating an arrangement with classical accordion, a choice that added a unique atmosphere and a distinctive sonic color to Guastavino’s music.
